PhonePad Freezes Overnight

Do you leave PhonePad running overnight on your workstations? When you arrive at work in the morning do you find that PhonePad has frozen, ie. become unresponsive?

Here’s Why This Happens

The explanation, and solution, are simple. PhonePad on your workstations communicates with PhonePad on your Server (or Host PC) using the TCP protocol. If your workstation’s Power Plan is set to go into sleep or hibernation mode overnight then Windows will drop all TCP connections as it goes into power save mode, including the connection to the PhonePad Server. There are two solutions: Log out of PhonePad before you go home. or Change your Power Plan so that your workstation never goes into Sleep mode.
