Sending a Message

Send a message to another person or to a group by selecting the conversation and typing in the message editor.

Send a Message

1.Select the conversation in the conversation list. To start a new conversation, click the plus (+) button.

2.Click in the message editor at the bottom of the window and type your message.

3.Click Send, or press Enter with the default keyboard setting.

The sent message appears in the conversation.

Start a New Line

With the default keyboard setting, press Shift+Enter to start a new line without sending the message. Press Enter when you are ready to send it.

Change the Send Key

1.Select File > Preferences.

2.Under Chat Behavior, use the Send messages with setting to choose how the Enter key works.

3.Click OK to save your choice.

The default setting uses Enter to send and Shift+Enter to start a new line.

The alternative setting uses Ctrl+Enter to send and Enter to start a new line. You can click Send with either setting.

Finish a Message Later

If you select another conversation before sending, PhonePad Chat keeps the unfinished message as a draft. Select the original conversation to return to it.
