Licensing PhonePad
Licensing PhonePad is quick and simple, and there are a couple of ways you can do it.
Method 1: Licensing PhonePad Via the Internet
The easiest way to license PhonePad is to over the Internet. Just enter your license info, a couple of clicks, and you're done!
Here are the steps:
1. Run License.exe (it should be located in your PhonePad folder.)
2. The Retrieve License from Internet tab should already be selected.
3. Enter the Serial Number that you received when you purchased PhonePad.
4. Enter the Email Address you provided when you purchased PhonePad.
5. Click the Request License Key button. This step will retrieve your key from our license server (this may take a couple of minutes because the License program has to establish a connection with the license server, verify your details, and then download the license key).
6. Once step 5 has been successfully completed, your license information should be displayed.
7. Click the License button to install the license into your copy of PhonePad.
8. The license key will be installed in your PhonePad database.
Please note: The above steps only need to be performed once on your network. You do not need to perform these steps on each workstation as, once the license key is installed, all workstations are automatically licensed.
Important: You may need to configure your firewall software to allow this connection. If you get a message from the License program saying that it can't connect to the license server, please check your firewall software as it is probably blocking the connection.
Method 2: Licensing PhonePad Using a License File
If you are unable to use method 1 because you can't connect to the license server for some reason, don't worry - all is not lost. There is another way you can license your PhonePad.
You can login to your account in the client portal and request a license key file by clicking on the Send Request link on the License Information page. The license server will email you a license key file to use with the following instructions.
Here are the steps:
1. Save the license key file attached to the email you received. It should be saved as PHONEPAD4.KEY
2. Run License.exe (it's located in the PhonePad folder).
3. Click on the Retrieve License from File tab.
4. Click on the ... button and select the license key you saved in step 1 above.
5. Click on the License Info button to verify that the key is valid.
6. Click on the License button.
7. The license key will be installed in your PhonePad database.
Please note: The above steps only need to be performed once on your network. You do not need to perform these steps on each workstation as, once the license key is installed, all workstations are automatically licensed.
