How TextMessenger Works

Top  Previous  Next

Normally when you send a text message you are using your telecommunication providers' SMS (Short Message Service) network.  This can cost you money if you send a lot of messages. unless you have a plan that covers them.

TextMessenger doesn't use an SMS network. It uses a service provided by the great people at Pushover.

When you send a message from TextMessenger, it communicates with the Pushover service via the Internet, which then sends the message to an app running on your iOS or Android device.

All you need is TextMessenger, a free account with Pushover, and the Pushover app on your mobile device/s.

Pushover allow a very generous 7500 messages a month - for free!  That's a lot of messages and you can see how quickly you can save money by using this.
