PhonePad can automatically forward messages to an email address or mobile/cell phone.  While users can activate this option within PhonePad and WhereRU, administrators can also activate this option for users.  This comes in handy if a user forgets to do this.  They can phone the administrator and ask them to activate or deactivate message forwarding for them.

 

To activate Message Forwarding for a user, select their name from the user list and click the Message Forwarding button on the toolbar, select Message Forwarding from the File menu, or click on Message Forwarding on the taskbar.

Forwarding Messages to Other PhonePad Users

 

PhonePad can be set up to automatically forward your messages to other PhonePad users when you are not available.  You have a number of options:

 

Do not forward messages via PhonePad - When selected, no messages will be forwarded to other PhonePad users.
Forward my messages when my status is - Select this option to forward your messages when your WhereRU status matches the selected value from the dropdown list.
Forward my messages within my available times - When selected, messages will be forwarded based on your availability (see section below for more details).
Forward my messages outside of my available times - When selected, messages will be forwarded based on your availability (see section below for more details).

 

 

 ForwardToPhonePadUsers

Select which users you want your messages forwarded to by selecting their names from the drop-down list and click Add button.  Names can be removed by selecting them from the list and clicking the Delete button.

 

Other Options:

 

Do NOT forward PRIVATE messages - When checked, only non-Private messages will be forwarded.
Only forward URGENT messages - When checked, only Urgent messages will be forwarded.

 

This feature does not require MessageSender.

 

 

Forwarding Messages to Email Addresses

 

PhonePad can be set up to automatically forward your messages to other PhonePad users when you are not available.  You have a number of options:

 

Do not forward messages via Email - When selected, no messages will be forwarded to the listed email addresses.
Forward my messages when my status is - Select this option to forward your messages when your WhereRU status matches the selected value from the dropdown list.
Forward my messages within my available times - When selected, messages will be forwarded based on your availability (see section below for more details).
Forward my messages outside of my available times - When selected, messages will be forwarded based on your availability (see section below for more details)

 

 ForwardToEmail

 

Type in the email addresses you want the messages forwarded to.  Each email address should be on a separate line.

 

Other Options:

 

Only forward URGENT messages - When checked, only Urgent messages will be forwarded.

 

This feature requires MessageSender.

Availability

 

The Availability tab allows you to specify what days and times you are (and aren't) available by selecting the check boxes for the relevant days and setting the start and end times.  The settings affect all of the above options.
