Preferences - Security

The Security tab contains various options for customizing PhonePad's Security settings.

Standard Login

Displays a login dialog box, prompting you for your Username and Password.

Autologin

Automatically logs you in using your last known Username and Password. No login dialog is displayed.

Remember User Name

Displays a login dialog box as with a Standard Login, but it remembers your Username for you.

Remember Username and Password

This is similar to the above option but it also remembers your Password as well. This could be considered a security breach in your workplace as it can provide unauthorized persons with access to your PhonePad data. It is recommended that you do not use this login mode.

You are given 3 attempts to login. If you do not enter the correct Username and Password combination, after 3 attempts, PhonePad will shutdown and you will need to run it again.

There is also a 5th login mode, which can only be setup by a system administrator. This login mode uses your Windows Username to log you in. If the above options are all disabled then your system administrator has invoked this option - you cannot override this.
