Preferences - Messages

The Message Notification options can alert you whenever a new message arrives in your Inbox. The way the flash notification works depends on whether you are running PhonePad as a standard Windows application or as a system tray application. If you are running PhonePad as a standard Windows application, the icon on the taskbar will flash until you restore the application window (ie. un-minimise it). If you are running PhonePad as a system tray application, the color of the PhonePad icon in the system tray will cycle between blue, red and yellow.

The Notification Sound option allows you to specify a sound to play when new messages are received. This is only enabled if the Beep When Messages Received option is enabled. For more information, refer to Using Notification Sounds.

Flash When Messages Received *	PhonePad's icon on the taskbar flashes when a new message is received in your Inbox.

Flash Only When Urgent Messages Received *	PhonePad's icon on the taskbar flashes only when a new urgent message is received in your Inbox.

Do Not Flash	Flashing is disabled.

Beep When Messages Received	A standard Windows beep will sound whenever a new message is received in your Inbox.

Display Popup Messages	Displays a popup message when a new message is received in your Inbox.

Receive Other User Notifications	Applies only to Receptionist Mode. Allows receptionists to receive new message notifications for other users.

Switch to Inbox	When checked, PhonePad automatically switches to the Inbox when new messages are received.

Display Popup Balloon in System Tray	When checked, a popup balloon will be displayed in the system tray.

Display Alert Window in System Tray	When checked, an alert window will be displayed in the system tray whenever new messages are received.


Notification Sound

Default Sound	Plays the default Windows beep.

Sound File	Instead of using the default Windows beep for alerting you about new messages, you can play a WAV file. Click on the button and select the WAV file to play. 8 sounds are included with PhonePad but you can add your own. Click the sound button to preview the sound.


Inbox Message Filtering

Default Filter	Specifies the default filtering to use for the Inbox.
