Performance Issues

Phone Messages

If you find that the phone message form is really slow to display when creating a new phone message, the most likely cause is that your Address Book is growing fairly large. When the phone message window is displayed it has to load all of the caller information from the Address Book into the lookup lists. The more Address Book entries the longer it can take.

Here are some things you can do to overcome this. Try these in the order they are listed (all of these options are under Preferences.

•	Turn off Sort 'From' List - If you're using the From lookup list the incremental search feature will still allow you to easily find the right organization.

•	Turn off Load From Details - Unless you get a lot of callers from the same organization, you probably don't need the From lookup list.

•	Turn off Sort Caller List - Although a sorted caller lookup list is nice, you can still find callers easily using the incremental search.

•	Turn off Load Caller Details - This is a last resort and you shouldn't need to do this. In fact, if you get to this point then please let us know.

If speed issues occur when viewing a message, turn off Caller Details Editing unless you really need it.

Address Book

If you find that the Address Book window takes a long time to load then, again, you probably have a very large Address Book. Here are some things you can do to speed things up. These options are under Preferences.

•	Make sure Buffer Address Book List is checked - This should make a huge difference.

•	Turn off the Show ALL Tab option - Only loading entries under each Index tab speeds things up.
