To import files you need to specify how each field should be mapped. The text file you are importing from will contain a number of fields or columns. The mapping feature allows you to specify which Address Book fields this data should be imported into. The screenshot below shows a simple example.
Use the Add Field button to add fields. Fields can be removed using the Delete Field button.
To map a field, click in the Address Book Fields area. Select the Address Book field from the drop-down list.
To avoid having to enter these field mappings in each time you need to import Address Book entries, you can save the mappings to a file using the Save button. Naturally, mapping files can be loaded using the Load button. There is no limit to the number of mappings files you can have, which means you can have different mapping files for different data sources.
