Caller Time Lookup
You may receive phone messages from callers located in different time zones, within your own country or overseas. The Caller Time Lookup feature allows you to check what time it is in the caller's location, just so you don't ring them up at 2:00 in the morning!!
To use this feature, click on the icon in a phone message.
If the phone number is in the correct format, the Country Code and/or Area Code will be looked up. If PhonePad has the information for the particular country, a window will appear showing the time zone information of the caller.
The window displays your current date and time, as well as the caller's date and time. It also shows the Universal Coordinated Time (UTC)*, which is expressed in minutes relative to the date and time in Greenwich, England. As you can see from this example,.it probably wouldn't be a good time to phone the caller, unless they are a very early riser!!
You may also notice there is a details tab. This contains the caller's Address Book information - it saves you having to close this window and the message and open up the Address Book to get the caller's other details (eg. cell phone/mobile phone number).
This facility does not take daylight savings time (DST) into account, due to the complexity of DST (it varies from country to country, year to year). However, we are looking at adding this to a future version of PhonePad.
* No, this is not a mistake.
