PhonePad Runs Very Slow, Especially on Startup.
Do you have Norton's AntiVirus running? There are a lot of applications having problems now due to the behaviour of NAV. Basically what it is doing is locking the data files until it has scanned them. And each time PhonePad tries to access the database NAV scans them again. Not only is this unnecessary, because the database cannot be infected by viruses or spyware, it also slows PhonePad down to a snail's pace. Probably what you are seeing is PhonePad is sitting there trying to get a read lock on the database via the operating system and NAV is holding everything up. There are three ways around this:

1. Exclude the PhonePad data directory from scans.
2. Exclude the file types *.dat, *.idx and *.blb from scans.
3. Dump NAV and use a different AV product.

A few of our clients went for option 3 but that's up to you. If you don't have NAV then please email support@cybercom-software.com.
